Do we have fans of Congreve here? Partisans of Behn? Readers or auditors of Wycherly, of Dryden, or Etherege?
These are elementary questions, I know, but: What are your thoughts about Restoration comedy? What plays (comedy or not) are your favorites, or your strongest recommendations? Are there 'forgotten' playwrights we should learn to remember? And if you enjoy Restoration theatre, why, most of all? If you do not, why not?
Let's sip some chocolate together, or a dish of new-fangled tea - even a pint of porter, if you must - and speak of these things.
