Is anybody reading these at the moment? I'll wait until they are out in graphic novel format, but the artwork looks great and very much the way I'd pictured the book in my head.

No, I wasn't even aware of a comic version of The Stand. I'll have to look for it. Thanks, Mama!

Hmm... probably won't buy it, but the artwork looks very nice. (Though it is funny to see Fran and Larry Underwood in traditional 'comic book hero' poses.)

There's a video trailer for it. The voiceover is kinda cheesy, but it shows more of the artwork: The Stand comic

Ooohhh, never seen a trailer for a comic book before and it wasn't bad (apart from the voiceover, which was a little cheesy).

Lordy, I hate to pile on but the VO and the script scream of heavy intern input.

Just the same, I'll read that series when it's gathered into one book.

As we're reading the book, and will be reading the longer version in due course, I'm really curious as to how it translates as a comic book. The series is being released as we speak, isn't it?

Yeah. When I went to the official website, it said that Captain Trips mini-series (the first of the three books of The Stand) is just getting ready to be compiled as a hardback volume.

To all those saying they'll wait for it to be gathered, I'm guessing it will be gathered as three books, not one.

Yup, I've been collecting these since it started. So far it's kept preety true to the original book, and my understanding is that they plan to do multiple mini-series until they adapt the entire book.

The art is nice, I like the writing, and along with Marvel's The Dark Tower, it is one of the few comics I actually purchase on a monthly basis.
