Not by EB, I know, but I used to read these with great enjoyment at the same time that I was reading her and they had some similarities, including children of school age outwitting the most nefarious villains who had foiled the best attempts by the police to catch them. Does anyone else recall this series or still have any of the titles? I remember "The Boy Rebel of Mexico" and "Trixie's Diary" (a series) and there was a very scary one set in China but I forget the title.
