I finished The Bride Finder and have the others in the series ordered. What else is out there like this? I like the whole rugged man of the moors idea and also being a story with sex, not sex with a weak story. Help!!

I never rerad The Bride Finder but Kresley Cole has a MacCarrick Brothers series starting with If You Dare. They are very, very good. There is also the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon which is absolutely wonderful. History, Romance, Time Travel. I liked a Harlequin book called Taming the Highlander by Terri Brisbin.

There are lots of highlander books and if you look through threads you will find a lot of recommendations.

Karen Marie Moning's Highlander Series is very good and Julie Garwood's Scottish medievals are great, very enjoyable, some of my favorites, particularly, The Bride. I also like Monica McCarty's series as well. Also, Laird of the Mist is good, (so I hear, it's next on my TBR list) by Paula Quinn.

Interesting family series by Lyn Stone - the first (I think) is The Knight's Bride, then Bride of Trouville, then Highland Wife. Knight's Bride has a Highlander hero trying to deal with having been tricked (by a friend's dying wish) into marrying an English woman; Trouville is the story of the villain of Knight's Bride; Highland Wife is Trouville's stepson, who's deaf, marrying a Highlander girl. All three excellent.

What about Karen Hawkins I haven't read her yet, but she is constantly featured on my amazon recommendations list?

I like Karen Hawkins. Not all her books are set in Scotland but I really liked her book To Scotland With Love. She is not an automatic buy for me but those I have I have liked.

I would recommend Julie Garwood's Ransom. It's an oldie, but a goodie.

gracer, Ransom is one of the best! Didn't you just love Brodick as a hero?
Julie Gardwood has several good Scottish Highland books. I am listening to The Secret by her now

I agree with ktleyed and sbrush on the recommendation of Karen Marie Moning's books. I've finished the first two in her Highlander series and am moving on to the third tonight.

#10 pmpayne - I loved The Secret! The hero in that one is one of my very, very favorites! I think I'd love to listen to it on audiobook - how is it? Authentic sounding?

pmpayne, It's been awhile since I've read it, but yes, Brodick is a great hero.

I think if you like Ransom, you will probably like most of Julie Garwood's historicals.

ktleyed, Jill Tanner is the narrator for The Secret and she is very good. I have listened to quite a few that she has narrated. It is authentic sounding.

gracer, I have read just about all of Garwoods historicals. It is hard to say which is my favorite as I really like them all.

I love Karen Marie Moning's Highlander series - romantic, adventurous, mystical, humorous...

I can also recommend Jude Deveraux, who has written some great Scottish/Highlander romantic fiction (with a bit of time travel thrown in if I recall correctly.

It's not like it hasn't been suggested before, but if you're looking for Highland romance, then it's Julie Garwood you're looking for.

I would also recommend trying Hannah Howell. She has a lot of really fun stories. Some of my favorites are Elfking's Lady, Amber Flame, Reckless and the books about the Murray family (there are a lot of those).

Not set in Scotland (but featuring Scottish brothers in colonial USA) - how about Surrender and Untamed by Pamela Clare.
