I'm not part of the LJ group, but I've always liked keeping track of my books. Last year I was part of a book challenge on another site I'm part of, but I figured it would be more logical to do it on LT this year, all things considered. :)
Every year I try to read just a little bit more than I read the year before. Since I read 261 books and 69,195 pages last year, this year I'll aim for 262 books and/or 69,196 pages.
Just to clarify, the little notations after each book mean the following:
keeper - a book I admitted to my personal collection. All keepers have reviews here on LT.
seller - a book I decided to pass along to someone else. Many of my sellers end up on BookMooch; the others are donated to charity shops and community projects.
library - something I borrowed from the library. Some of these books include additional caveats, including: "library, unfortunately," to indicate that I'd quite like a personal copy; "library, dammit," to indiciate that I desperately wish I'd bought this instead of borrowing it; and "library, thank god," to indicate that I'm bloody glad I didn't buy this piece of crap.
loaner - something I borrowed from a private individual
electronic - either an e-book or a manuscript
Now that that's taken care of, here's my 2007 reading list:
1. Where the Heart is by Billie Letts - seller
2. Promise of the Witch-King by R.A. Salvatore - library
3. The Kitchen God's Wife by Amy Tan - seller
4. Tehanu by Ursula K. Le Guin - library; personal copy later purchased
5. Making Faces by Kevyn Aucoin - keeper
6. Crossroads and Other Tales of Valdemar, ed. by Mercedes Lackey - keeper

9. Fingersmith by Sarah Waters - library; personal copy later purchased
10. The Stud by Jackie Collins - seller
11. Road of the Patriarch by R.A. Salvatore - library

Do you enjoy the Dragonlance books? :) I first read them when I was in middle school, and over the years, they have remained a nostaligic favorite of mine...

I first read them in junior high, and while I definitely liked them better back then I'm still enjoying them this time through. I've recently read a lot of things I hadn't visted in 10+ years, (including Dragonlance), so it's been a good nostalgia trip.

You've read 80 books so far this year?!?!?
Man, I felt like a slacker with 22 already, and now I really feel like I never get to read. It's those darn children--I have to take care of them, and spend time with them and all that. I guess they're worth it, but I wish I had more time to read.

I have a fairly lengthy bus ride to and from work every day; that, along with a fairly generous break schedule, accounts for most of my reading time. I was thinking about it the other day, and I realized that the amount I read has gone up pretty dramatically in recent years because of all the bus time.

So. I didn't read as many individual books this year, but exceeded my pages goal by almost 10,000.
Otherwise, my stats are as follows:
99 books, (or 40%), were keepers. This means I added them to my permanent collection.
38 books, (or 15.5%), were sellers. This means I posted them on BookMooch or donated them to a charity shop.
81 books, (or 33%), came from the library.
3 books, (or 1.2%), were loaners; that is, I borrowed them from private individuals.
16, (or 6.5%), were electronic. They were either e-books or manuscripts.
38, (or 15.5%), were rereads.
113, (46%), were fantasy.
46, (18.7%), were general fiction.
42, (17%), were graphic novels.
39, (16%), were children's or YA titles.
29, (11.8%), were nonfiction.
5, (2%), were science fiction.
3, (1.2%), were poetry.
1, (0.4%), was horror.
1, (0.4%), was a play.
Some books fell into more than one category, so I counted them in both.
