I won't swear this time, I promise. But obviously, I hate Twilight. And I'm just wondering, what is it that you love about it so much? What makes it so great? I'm just curious. I have backing statements about everything I hate about Twilight, I wanna hear yours on why you love it so much.

I'm sure I'm not the only one to ask this, but I really can not be bothered to go through every twilight group and search through every single post.

I apologise for the rudeness before as well. It was sort of an experiment. Every time I ask this question on any other Pro Twilight group on any other site, even if I ask politely, I get the same "OMG U SUCK EDWARD IS HAWT AND UR GAY!!!1!1!" crap so I've decided being rude first, and THEN seeing how people react works better. Seeing as you guys didn't respond as the countless amounts of people who wrote the above did, I figured I'd give it a shot (:

In answer to your question I think what appeals to so many teenage girls all around the world is not the typical answer of 'OMG! He's so frickin hot' but because of the tension and danger of Bella and Edward's relationship. Many girls who have not had a boyfriend immediately fall for Edward because of the way he treats and respects Bella.

The reason why I love the Twilight saga so much is because Bella is not the stereotype who gets the hottest boy. Bella is described as pale and plain and even admits that she is boring. She is smart and talks with very intelligent words and use of language, she is very conservative and quiet.

Edward although being describe 'like the Greek God Adonis' doesn't really understand himself and is tortured by his beauty and perfection. He is a classical gentleman with great respect and women and has the most sophisticated manners that you will never see on a man in these times.

I hope this has satisfied your curiosity as I speak for myself and I do hope you try to put your views in a more polite and civilised way.

Ok, fair enough.

But, the thing is, I don't really agree with what it is you're saying. Edward doesn't really seem to have respect for Bella. He treats her like a child, by making fun of her and being unnaturally over protective with her. Hell, in the third book (I think) he even goes as far as to tap the gas in her car so she can't visit Jacob, her best friend. Sure, he doesn't want her to be near Jacob because he doesn't trust him, but that shouldn't matter. A true relationship should be based on trust, and Edward to trust Bella, who trusts Jacob. Their relationship is more obsession, then it is love. A lot of Edward's actions and dialogue does not make him seem sophisticated or respectful.

Also, though I do agree that Bella is incredibly boring, she is very Mary-Sueish. She describes Herself as a very plain person who is nothing special, but despite that, she is instantly loved by most people on her first day at school. There are 5 boys in total who like her. And like you said; she is very smart. And because of that, she is constantly looking down at the people of Forks. As it says in the book; she 'sneers' at them. A total of 22 times in the 1st book. This makes her seems quite bitchy :/

Bella is wanted by all the boys at her new school because she is like a breath of fresh air to them as they all grew up together and it is said that not many new people come to Forks, only Mike Newton and the Cullens have arrived and only been there for less than five years.

Edward has a great deal of respect to Bella because if he didn't he would give her what she wants and endanger her from the temptation to kill her.

Edward wants the best for everything and wants to keep her safe because he knows one twitch of his finger could kill her and as Jacob is a young werewolf, they can lose control easily as seen with Sam and Emily.

Edward does trust Bella but he doesn't trust himself to keep her safe so he will do anything to keep her from harm (even leaving her) and keeps her under watch just in case she does something idiotic like jumping of a cliif. Edward doesn't trust her in Jacob's care because he knew that tensions with the Quileute's were rising and he didn't want her to be harmed. In the end Edward does trust Jacob and the pack and even lets her stay with them.

True their love is seen by many as an obsession but you have to keep in mind that Edward waited a hundred years for her and this is also her first relationship so the love for eachother is very strong. As they say 'True love never dies' and 'the first crush is the strongest'

ElementofGod I do have a query for you, when does she sneer at the people fo Forks, to my knowledge it is Lauren who always seems to do that at her because she is jealous because Tyler is interested in Bella.

If I was Edward, I wouldn't want Bella anywhere near Jacob either. Jacob is very young werewolf, who hasn't anywhere NEAR mastered his self-control. Sure, Edward is a vampire, but he's had over a century of practice of abstaining from human blood, unlike Jacob, who practically forced himself upon Bella. If you note, Edward tries at first to stay away from Bella but due to Bella's pushiness and stubborness, he falls in love with her. Bella should be treated like a child because she acts like one. She's like a naughty little girl that wants candy before dinner, is told no, but does it anyway, expecting to be forgiven and gets all put-out when she isn't.

Just because Bella sees herself as plain and boring doesn't mean she is. I would describe myself as boring and plain but there could be someone out there that thinks I'm awesome and beautiful (unlikely but it's just an example). I don't think I ever remember Bella sneering at anyone. But I would be totally creeped out by Eric and Tyler and Mike too if I was her, she obviously doesn't like them but they practically stalk her.

And just because Bella trusts Jacob, doesn't mean Edward should too. One of my best friends is good friends with a girl I don't trust, does that mean we don't have a true friendship? No, we are different people and I don't have to trust/distrust people she trusts/distrusts. Bella seems to have a lack of knowledge of consequence and this often creates problem which makes either Edward or Jacob come out looking like the "bad guy" whereas she can just stumble over her feet and blush and she's excused.

And I agree with Athina, if you want a civil, thought-out and polite response then you should too.

I also don't understand why people who hate Twilight go into fan groups looking for reasons why we like it. If you hate something, you don't keep looking or going into it. It's like if you hate mushrooms, you don't go and buy them and make a mushroom pie, you walk past them and get something you like.

We've had at least three GIANT conversation with haters and I really have no energy, patience or interest in making that four. So politely and respectfully, I ask you to please leave. Thank you.

Ok, first off, I am trying to be civil and thought out. How was I not, in my last two posts?

If you have had other conversations on this matter, would you mind pointing them out to me, so I can read those instead?

I'm trying to ask these questions so I can understand Twilight. I don't just hate something because I hate it. That's unfair. That's why I ask, so I can see the appeal and understand why so many people love it, and hate me for not liking it. You don't seem to understand that while Twilight Haters have a problem with some Twilight Fans, there are also a lot of Twilight Fans who have problems with people who hate it. That is one of the major reasons people don't like Twilight. It's because the completely brutal and violent things Twilight Fans, or Twi-Tards have done to people who don't like it. It's permanently put people off it. I believe there was a site for people who don't like Twilight that got hacked by a twilight fan who wrote some really bad stuff all over the page. So anyway, back on topic, that's why I'm here. To understand why myself and others have had to take crap from obsessive twilight fans, simply because we said we 'don't like it'.

So anyway, if you have a problem with me asking a simple question, then I am very sorry. I'll go find another forum, or website where people do have the energy to spend 5 minutes of their time typing up a simple explanation.

I personally appreciate your kindness and understanding on this topic because it is very rare to find a non-Twilight person who approach us kindly and sincerely but I do admit your experimenting was irritating.

Why isn't anyone talking about Twilight? I really like fantasy books such as this and I think there are many more writers going to come out with new material that will be turned into movies as well (hopefully much better than Twilight movie)!

hmm... i would recommend the evernight series. they're really good.

Vampire academy looks promising. And I agree with the Evernight series.

Once upon a time there was a little girl named Poosen who liked to ride horses. On her 10th birthday she begged and begged her dad for a horse of her own but he flat out refused to spend money on something she will lose interest in.
So, Poosen walked down to the stables where she rode her favourite horse Tiny every weekend, to see if they would sell her a horse. When she arrived there were people everywhere. She sqashed her way through the crowd to try and reach the front. When she got to the front of the pack she noticed there was an extra stalble on the end. A new horse?
She walked over to Mrs. Pigglebottom, the owner of the stables and asked her what was going on. Mrs. Pigglebotton said that they were bringing in a new horse. A large, male, all black Stallion that had been donated my an anonymous civillian. Poosen thought this was strange. who would donate such a rare and gorgeous horse that could one day be a major prize winner, to some run down old non-for-profit stable in a small town? Poosen made her way back out to the main carpark where she sat and waited for the crown to subside. When evedryone had left Poosen snuck her way back in without Mrs. Pigglebotton noticing, so she could get a look at the horse. She silently creot down the aisle towards that last gloomy stable where the new horse was stationed. She didn't want to get too close but in order for her to see in she had to stand on the botton rail of the gate. Slowly she gripped her hands on the top of the gate and gently out both her feet on the bottom rail and hesitantly looked over. What she saw next was nothing like she imagined.

The horse was huge. Bigger than any horse she had ever seen. Even bigger than those in movies. Poosen was so srprised by the sheer size of the horse that she almist lost her footing. When she had regained her balance she took another look over the gate to see the horse looking right at her. Had it noticed her? she wondered. She stared into the horses large black eyes. Not wanting to slip away from it's gaze. He was the most amazing horse she had ever laid eyes on. He was the hose she wanted. Poosen shook her head, letting herself free of the horses peircing eyes, but in doing do she lost her footing and fell backwards off of the gate. She let out a quick yelp which frightened the horse. He reared up. Smashing it's giant hooves into the gate. The gate buckled under the weight of the horse and flew open. Just missing Poosen who was shocked still. Frozen with fear. The horse backed down and galloped away at high speed. Poosen compased herself and watched as the horse sank into the distance.She got up. Confused.
Should she follow him? Should she leave him to the wild? These questions had to wait. Mrs. Pigglebottom ws coming to investigate. Poosen bolted out of the stables and ran home. Never to speak of the Mystery Black Horse again.

In some schools in NSW (I think) homework is banned.
They think that it stops kids from having a social life and stops them from being able to do sport and other things like that...

I don't mind homework, actually. I mean, it's good b/c then I wouldn't get stuff finished, like big projects but it does annoy me on Wednesdays when I have netball.
