The only one that I came up with was Blood and Cholocate. But really if you can't figure one don't feel ashamed because the chances of that happening is like 1 in a million.

I can think of loads of them, books you'd never have heard of if movies hadn't been made out of them.
My two favorite comedies were both based on books. Cat Ballou (Jane Fonda, Lee Marvin) was loosely based on Roy Chanslor's The Ballad of Cat Ballou, which is a really soapy (and serious!) western, and The Trouble with Angels (Hayley Mills) was based on Jane Trahey's Life with Mother Superior (which wasn't bad, but I'd never have read it if Hayley hadn't been my very first screen crush and TTwA weren't my favorite Hayley movie).
Looking to books that are of top quality, though, I'd say the movie adaptation of Muriel Spark's The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie is even better than the original book, not only for Maggie Smith's Oscar-winning performance but also for Pam Franklin as Sandy.
Also, I'd place the miniseries adaptation of Jeanette Winterson's Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit above the novel, especially for the starring performance by Charlotte Coleman. Winterson, incidentally, also wrote the screenplay for the miniseries.
Then there's A Clockwork Orange, where the Burgess novel and the Kubrick movie are both great in their own different ways.
EDIT: Incidentally, Chanslor also wrote the novel Johnny Guitar. I've got a copy somewhere but I've never read it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's as crappy as The Ballad of Cat Ballou, but the movie's a real gender-bending camp classic with Joan Crawford and Mercedes McCambridge. (I tried using a touchstone link to JG, but it isn't working.)

I think a lot of Stephen King's stuff is better on film: Stand by Me, Carrie, It, etc. Or stuff by Phillip K. Dick: Minority Report, Blade Runner. I also liked the Fight Club movie better than the book.
30VetaTorres
i didn't even know that Fight Club was a book first...
31katelisim
Yep, it's a pretty good book, but if you've seen the movie you know it can get a bit confusing. It's by Chuck Palahniuk. I haven't read anything else by him, but the new-ish movie Choke, is also based off of one of his books.
32ragulto101
Actually Helen there are 4. I repeat 4 FOUR Avalon High books.
Man, I so need to get those other 3 books.
