I saw the new Star Trek movie today and enjoyed it immensely. does anyone know if there are novels planned featuring this new/rebooted Enterprise crew? I haven't read much Trek fiction but this seems like it might be a good time to start...

I haven't heard of any novels yet, but I know that there is a graphic novel (big comic book) that lays some of the groundwork leading up to the movie. It's called "Star Trek: Countdown".

Thanks for asking that question! I just spent the last few minutes searching my library's site trying to find a novelization of the movie. I should have known it would be easier to just ask here!

I did find the graphic novel on there (as yet unrequestable) and it looks interesting.

I've just learned from memory-alpha.org that three book have been announced which will be set after the recent movie, to be released in about twelve months time...

I hope Diane Carey will be writing for the reboot, she's probably my favorite Trek author.
