I would love to know 5 of your favorite romance novels/series. The kind of books you know you will read again. I'll go first. The first five that come to my mind are...

It Had to Be You by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
Chandler Brothers series by Carly Phillips
Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris
Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie
Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer

This is really a tough one! There are series that I really enjoy that have a two, three or four individual books that I love. I'll try to whittle it down as much as possible:

The Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon and my fave three books from that are Fantasy Lover, Night Pleasures and Unleash the Night.

The Dark series by Christine Feehan and my faves from that series are Dark Prince, Dark Desire, Dark Melody and Dark Celebration.

The Black Dagger Brotherhood books by J.R. Ward with my favorites being Lover Revealed and Lover Unbound.

What Do You Say to a Naked Elf? by Cheryl Sterling

Ransom by Lee Rowan

The runner-up would be the Wallflower books by Lisa Kleypas

I do love Twilight as well but am trying to stick with the adult romances because if I branch off into YA that's a whole 'nother kettle of worms LOL!

Kresley Cole IAD Series
J.R. Ward BDB Series
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Colleen Gleason The Gardella Vampire Chronicles
Melissa Mayhue Daughters of the Glen Series

and there are soo many more ;)

Now You See Her by Linda Howard (and so many more by her!)
Ransom by Julie Garwood
Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie
Fire and Ice by Anne Stuart
Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas

All those authors have multiple books I love, of course!

Edited to say that I have to go with six books because something by Susan Elizabeth Phillips has to be on there: Match Me If You Can

So difficult! I'm leaving out classics (like Pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre) as well romances written prior to the 1970s to make the task more manageable.

Flowers from the Storm by Laura Kinsale
One Good Turn by Carla Kelly
A Radical Arrangement by Jane Ashford
It Happened One Autumn by Lisa Kleypas
Nine Coaches Waiting by Mary Stewart

Of course, on another day I might give you an entirely different list ;-)

A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Devereaux
These Old Shades by Georgette Heyer
Devil's Cub by Georgette Heyer
The Notorious Rake by Mary Balogh
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

I have re-read each of these books many times.

Touchstones for authors seem to be touchy today.

Dream Man by Linda Howard
Dying to Please by Linda Howard
Chesapeake series by Nora Roberts
Naked in Death & the rest of the series by J. D. Robb
Mackenzie series by Linda Howard

To name only 5 is tough! :D

Lightning by Dean Koontz (okay, so not technically a "romance novel" but it is about an unusual romance and has a wonderful hero willing to go the distance for the woman he loves)
Remembrance by Jude Deveraux
Chesapeake Bay series by Nora Roberts (I like #4 the best)
Table for Two by Nora Roberts (containing Summer Desserts and Lessons Learned)
Change of Heart by Jude Deveraux (a novella, part of her Montgomery/Taggert series) (this little story is about a genius twelve year old boy who needs to get his soft hearted mother taken care of so he can go to a University)

This IS hard but a great question. I'm afraid I'm going to have to go with bodies of work instead of series though...I can't help myself.

1. Nora Roberts/JD Robb
2. Lisa Kleypas
3. Jayne Ann Krentz/Amanda Quick/Jayne Castle
4. Julie Garwood
5. Linda Howard

Non-romance currently:

Laurell K Hamilton - Anita Blake & Merry Gentry
Kay Hooper - Noah Bishop books, Matchmaker series
Robin D. Owens - Summoning Series
Janet Evanovich - Stephanie Plum
Elizabeth Vaughn - Warprize

This is hard, but I'll give it a shot:

Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon
The Wallflowers series by Lisa Kleypas, particularly Devil in Winter
In Death series by J.D. Robb
Slightly series by Mary Balogh
Chicago Stars series by Susan Elizabeth Phillips

I only read the paranormal romances which I only started reading a couple of years ago and now can't stop.

I agree top 2 would have to be Dark Hunters and Black Dagger series.

1.The Dark Hunters by Sherrilyn Kenyon and not sure I can pick a favourite maybe Dance with the Devil, Night Play and Acheron
2. The Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward fave one being Lover Revealed
3. The Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton -anything before she becomes a succubus and just collects lovers but gets bogged down in tedious relationship details.
4. Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris - any one
5. Riley Jenson series by Keri Arthur - any

lastly Yasmine Galenorn's Otherworld series and The Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost are looking promising will let you know if they knock the others off the top five.

I couldn't add the Christine Feehan's Dark Series even though I am completely addicted to reading them they don't have the same scope for character variation as Kenyon's and lack the background and mythical aspect of the Dark hunters so although they are probably more purely romance than most of my other picks they just don't have the same grip. They are all a bit too the same so I get a bit bored halfway through and just start skimming a bit to the next fight or sex scene.

I decided to put what I find to be the best book by an author on the list. (That means for example that A knight in shining armor by Jude Deveraux may have deserved a place on the list, but I like The Duchess better, so that's what's on the list.

The Duchess by Jude Deveraux
Ransom by Julie Garwood
Dark needs at night's edge by Kresley Cole
Knight of darkness by Kinley McGregor

and my favourite: Emotional Geology by Linda Gillard, which may and may not be romance, but it's still a very romantic story.

Grand Avenue – Jody Fielding - 978-0743407083 – A thriller twist at the end and romantic drama throughout.
Conquer All Obstacles – Jo-Anne Vandermeulen - 978-0984168019 - An emotional thrill ride as it pulls on the heart strings, fans the flames of anger, and tugs at the smile within.
A Walk to Remember – Nicholas Sparks - 978-0446693806 - A love story that stirs emotions and is a recommended read.
The Notebook – Nicholas Sparks - 978-0446605236 – Character driven, the plot braids itself with pure passion of true love that never completely fades.
One Day at a Time – Danielle Steel - 978-0385340298 – Family struggles, secret love affair and the life of three different couples as to what appears as a ‘happily-ever-after’ journey.
