I was going to start this a week or so ago, but I figured should probably wait until we were under 100 to go. LOL Leave it to PeaBee! :oD How long do you guys think it will take? I think it's going to take a looooooong time. :o/

We could make up new names just to shorten the time. (Don't tell Tim.)

Well, here are a few:
1) PBJ
2) MrGrant (female -> male, and Confederate general to Union general)
3) TightLipped (Well, it does seem to be the opposite of an 'airy clam'...)
4) bignerd
What others? :D

#23 - I hate to admit to such things, but that's the only one that had me snickering while typing!
By the way, which do you find funnier, "Shut your piehole" or "Shut your cakehole." I've heard both, but somehow "piehole" is funnier to me!

I agree on 'piehole' being funnier, but mainly because 'pie' is a softer word that 'cake'
A simple test is a "Homer-ism" -
Say, out loud..... "mmmmmmm ....... pieeeeeeeee......."

2000 members! In one little pub group? incredible. sweet. fun. happy making.
33GeorgiaDawn
We need to add on to our little pub. The zoo animals have made it a little crowded (and smelly).
36maggie1944
When planning for additions let's enlargen the Roomba closets and we could store the Floombas (or other bots) in there too. I also vote for a bigger spa/hot tub. A longer bar!!!!!!!! we need a longer bar! And does groo need a bigger refrigeration system for the PGGBs he makes for parties? Oh, the ideas....there are just so many of them.
37MissWoodhouse1816
More pools= more pool boys. Just a thought for the renovators... ;)
38mrgrooism
Well, our architects for the renovation assure us that the Green Dragon will be much, much larger on the inside than the outside.
The architects include Antoni GaudÃ, Leomund the Red, Cass Gilbert, MC Escher, Eileen Gray, Dr. Stephen Strange, Zaha Hadid, John Stewart, Frank Lloyd Wright, Albus Dumbledore, Andrea Palladio, George Bailey, Kenzo Tange, Dr. Fate, Adolf Loos, Ponder Stibbons, Stanford White, Leonardo DaVinci, Papa Smurf, Sir Christopher Wren, King Cheops, Baba Yaga, Frank Furness, Sabrina Spellman, Frederick Law Olmsted, and some guy named Mithrandyr.

#37 - I might have a nomination for a pool boy. A young man was wandering around the hotel I work at in the nude a couple of nights ago. Sorry, I neglected to get a picture!

#38 May I nominate an additional member to our architectureal committee, namely Friedensreich Hundertwasser? His guiding principles were:
1. A straight line is an abomination.
2. Land used for buildings is stolen from nature, and must be returned.
Tonight I'll post a picture or 2 of Hundertwasserhaus, Vuienna (DV).

Loewengasse 41-43 / Kegelgasse 34-38, Vienna 3, Austria.
The building was designed as subsidised housing (Vienna 3 is NOT a classy area!) and is now distinguished as the block with the longest waiting list and the tenants least likely to move out in the whole city.
ETA precision to the address.

Big Thank-you to Jennie and Amber! I'm tempted to post some more of that extraordinary place.
I also thought it would be fun to live there -- for about 15 seconds. It's in a relatively quite run-down inner city area (not as bad as the equivalent parts of Durban or Johannesburg or Nairobi, but nowhere near as nice as most any small town you can think of), and you have a permanent crowd of tourists rubbernecking around the building. And, subtropically spoilt as I am, with all due respect to mid-continent mid-latitude residents of first-world countries, I do like being warm in winter as well as summer!

I think it's a great idea for the pool boys to hold the funds that are going to start pouring in. I will even sacrifice my time and energy to help. I'll stay with the pool boys and count the money. I will count very slowly and make sure the counts are correct. I will probably have to spend most of my time watching the pool boys counting the money.

I am an honest person, so I'll admit it: I have my heart set on being #2000. But I also want to join regardless. I considered joining now, and unjoining just before the big 2K, then rejoining as #2000. But I won't do it. Unethical. But now I've given the strategy away to anyone who wants it, undermining my own chances. I oughta whack myself upside the head.
147maggie1944
we all do that - whack ourselves upside our heads - regularly; just don't let anybody talk you into drinking a PGGB before you try the whack. Triples the effects and then the blue boobies or is it the roombas start looking good to date.
OK, its Friday night and I am home alone. I'd better stop.

I hate sounding like a dufus, but where are you seeing the actual total members? The closest thing I see is the 312 members online (as I type). Also, is dufus really a word? Spellcheck says no. Fascinating, Captain.
160calm
#158 DirtPriest on the group page, centre column, groups with the most members gives you The Green Dragon (1,972 members) or on the Green Dragon homepage just after most recent members there is a total.
161DirtPriest
I guess I am a doofus. Or dufus, as both show up as misspellings. I've been following this thread for months thinking it was LT members and wondering how there could only be 2000 LTers. That's why grade school teachers always say that there is no such thing as a dumb question. Not my best Spock moment.

In Southold. All those potato fields are now vineyards! I was cycling, too, but back and forth to South Harbor Beach on Little Peconic Bay. (I was too young to drive.) I would move back there in a heartbeat if I were independently wealthy. I really miss that saltwater smell and the sound of gulls.
Wow, you Summered out there? From Philadelphia?

Good memory.
Yes, it is quite lovely there. Few cars or people, quiet marshes on peaceful bays... No, we didn't "summer" anywhere when I was a kid. We were so poor that -- well, we didn't summer outside the immediate vicinity.
I spend a good deal of time there now, having the good fortune to have married stellarwoman, whose father has a place out there.

Ah! I misread 'spend' as 'spent.' I don't make it over there as often as I would like to, sadly. My mother still lives in Southold and when we moved back to the East coast I swore I would be down there regularly, but it hasn't come to pass. (I love the wineries, too.)
