I just uploaded a photo for the first time for Craig Childs. I contacted the author using one of the letter templates provided and got his reply (below) saying it was ok to use the photo. I specifically requested photos from his web site. My question is whether I should have posted his reply somewhere to verify his permission?

I have this sinking feeling I forgot to write back to you. Yes, the photo is yours. Any photo. Thank you. I'll check out the site. I'm grabbing kids, heading off for the backcountry, going to roast my little boys' noggins in the desert for a few days.

Rather than post it, I've always forwarded the permission email to Abby (click "contact", below, for the address) for her files. She never told me not to, so I hope that's still the case.

In the copyright line, put "Permission received from X, forwarded to LT". That way, people will know not to quarantine the image.
