Books Sawyer has read or referred to or have shown up

Hi, I've just discovered LOST and have begun watching the DVD from Season 1, I'm currently on Season 3.
I've become intrigued with all the book references in the story, either Sawyer is reading one, refers to characters from books or other characters on the show are reading books.
I would love to know what you may have picked up on that I have not. Perhaps I'll read them in my next 75 book challenge. Ex: Of Mice and Men, Babar, etc.

Thank you so much WholeHouse! I knew a list existed somewhere, it was a matter of finding the proper source to get me there.

Now that I have reviewed this website I just realized that it doesn't include all references. One case in point: episode 310 Sawyer refers to Oliver Twist although the viewer doesn't actually see the book - it doesn't appear on the websites list. If anyone catches a title that is not on the website - please share it on this thread.

Perhaps in this way this topic will remain open by the "highly paid" employees of LT. Because we'll actually be talking about books.

Although I don't remember if Sawyer ever mentioned it but the Bible is referred to quite often.

This is often updated right after the show airs in the US, so all the books referenced in Season 5 are on this one, and I don't think the Lost Book Club on abc.com has quite caught up with the past season.

I think it would make a great challenge if this group decided to read the books that have been mentioned by name or either showed up as being read on the Island. If such a challenge were to be made I for one would certainly sign up for it.

I don't know but I think it should be someone who's done it before. Maybe someone will volunteer to get it going.
