Sister, late sub CO, Tomahawk program manager for testing/development/successful testing.
I'm writing -- with assist from SUBFOR master chief culinary specialist and boat culinary specialists (cooks) -- the first ever submarine cookbook to be widely marketed to the general public. It's my way of educating about the men of The Silent Service who, by the very nature of their missions, receive no or little public fanfare.
A portion of book proceeds to USSVI memorial boats fund, portion to those 20-plus boats that sell the book.
QUOTES: For within the book pages, I have about 60 food service-related, two-to three-sentence quotes from submariners, mostly retired., and the majority from smokeboats. Quotes include attribution.
REQUEST: Seeking quotes from those who've served more recently aboard SSNs, SSBNs and SSGNs. Also, need more quotes from culinary specialists, supply officers, officers in general.
