I found that I was gradually collecting a few packs of Tarot cards which I love because they are so beautiful, and I figured that I might as well acquire a few more and now I have over a dozen packs which I am trying to learn to use.
It is not all that easy and some packs are easier than others. ... and I have nine books to tell me how to read them and they all say different things so I guess that a lot of it is going to be down to intuation.
Anyone else ever come here? The last post was over a year ago ...

You have an interesting mix of Tarot books in your library, all very different. I'm not surprised you're finding it confusing. Some of those decks, the Haindl, for example, are so different, all they really share with decks such as Rider-Waite-Smith is the major/minor arcana structure.
Which deck do you favor?

My favourite packs at the moment are the Gilded and the Golden Botticelli. They are both based on the Rider Waite and are pretty easy to read.
I am just having a try at the Unicorn pack which is different but reasonably easy. The one which I find the most confusing is the Secret Forest pack.
You must understand, though, that I collect them as small works of art rather than anthing else but I am trying to learn to understand them.
Artistically, Aleister Crowley's cards are probably way ahead of any of the others.

PhaedraB, I have given up on the bulk of my tarot books; they mostly came as a package with the cards. I am exclusively using The Tarot Bible which at least standardises my readings.
I do a daily spread but don't take it as gospel and am using my gut feeling more and more anyway. I suspect that it is a bit like the 'I Ching' in that it taps into the subconcious mind to get the interpretation which the reader's subconcious mind thinks is the best path to follow. I am not sure how this works when doing a reading for someone else, though.
