The University of Toronto has a number of book sales starting the end of September and going through to mid-October. Here is a link for more info:

The Victoria sale usually coincides with Word on the Street and is just across the street so you can kill two birds with one stone!
Everything is donated throughout the year and because a lot of it comes from university students, you can find just about every topic imaginable
