I finished Silent Killer over the weekend. She left some loose ends in the book, but in a letter in the back of the book, says she plans to write about those in the next book. Can't wait for that one. More Griffin Powell - yeah!

I'm currently reading The Perfect Murder by Brenda Novak.

I finished Black Hills last night. WOW-- That's seriously all that's going through my mind even today. I loved the book, it definitely has moved to the top of my N.R. Favorites list, and reminded me, once again, why I love Robert's romances. I think another reason why I loved this book was the characters, and the wildlife preservation theme, which I completely support. Plus, the romance between Cooper and Lil was great as well! :D

Moving on to The Princess Bride, which is for my 999 Challange. I should also start another one of the ARCs I recieved last week, but I'm not sure which one yet. I'll figure that out later tonight, I guess.

Enjoy!

I'm still reading Dreamfever and Magic Burns. I don't seem to be getting anywhere fast with either book.

Last week I read Tempt Me At Twilight, the latest book in the Hathaway family series by Lisa Kleypas. I truly enjoyed it, but didn't think it was quite as good as the first 2 books in the series. It did give a few more glimpses into the governess Miss Marks's backstory, which is becoming more intriguing. Now I'm really looking forward to Leo's story in the next book.

I'm waiting on my books to come in the mail, so I picked up another Georgette Heyer novel off my TBR pile to tide me over. This one is Venetia and so far it's actually kind of funny. The heroine and her brother are pretty witty.

katybear> I loved Venetia! Very different from today's romances, but good nonetheless. I think sometimes it's nice to take a break from the more sensual stories and read a nice, tame, love story.

I'm about halfway through Flowers From the Storm and really enjoy it so far, though I totally agree with others on this board that it is very different from your standard romance. It is also a tough book to read so I have also started to read Liz Carlyle's My False Heart in order to sort of break it up.

katybear, if I'm not mistaken Tempt Me at Twilight is going to be the group's October read, so you may want to put your thoughts on the book in the official group read thread when it goes up.

I just bought the book tonight and plan to read it in the next week or two. I am very much looking forward to reading more about Miss Marks and Leo as I really liked those characters in the last Hathaways' book but I can't say I have very high hopes for the main story after having read recent reviews. I really hate any kind of "forced marriage" plot and the hero in this book sounds very unappealing to me. But I'll try to keep an open mind and hope I'll be pleasantly surprised.

> Lam - That is so great that you are getting in to Flowers from the Storm!

With Lover Unbound I am getting to J R Ward's fifth book in the series. And the reading is just great! I really enjoy my tortured "heroes"!

Do any of you know if any of her other work under another name is any good?

I will put the October thread up in a couple of minutes.

I was thinking the same marietherese. :D

hallontass, the Jessica Bird books that J.R. Ward also writes are good but (in my opinion) not in the same category as the Brotherhood books. They are straight contemporaries, and if I didn't know who the writer was, they wouldn't have stood out from the pack for me, though I think they're worth reading. I did really like The Billionaire Next Door and have re-read it a couple of times now.

#4 TBQ, I have Black Hills on hold at the library but I think I have about 50 people ahead of me. :( I would be tempted to buy the book, but I have so many in my TBR pile that I might as well wait.

I just started What I Did For Love by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. I love her books and this one has grabbed me right away.

anamuhandis> Thank you! It is what I suspected. The set up for her vampire series is what does it for me, I guess.

I read Terms of Attraction, from a Silhouette Romantic Suspense series by Kylie Brant. I really enjoyed the first two in the series, but this one wasn't quite as good. There were some plot elements not tied up at the end, and it felt a little rushed. It was still good, though, and I'll be looking for more by her.

Finished Dangerous Book for Demon Slayers by Angie Fox it was good but pretty much skimmed through - seemed to be just like the 1st book

Just started Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison & hoping this is good as I need a bit of a change along with a book that keeps my interest. Plus I am a huge Clint Eastwood fan so I love the names to all her books in this series - it cracks me up.
I think I may start including some non-fiction books into my library just to change it up a bit. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great too.

I read Soulless by Gail Carriger. It's a paranormal romance set in Victorian England, and is supposed to be part of a genre I never heard of before, called 'Steampunk.' According to the review that led me to the book (http://dearauthor.com/wordpress/2009/10/01/review-soulless-by-gail-carriger/), Steampunk involves books set in the Victorian time period that have supernatural or alternate world elements.

It's a really funny book, and very different. I suspect a lot of people here would enjoy it.

>17 anamuhandis:: I'm glad you enjoyed Soulless, I've heard some good reviews on it, and the summary grabbed my attention. It's on my wish list right now! :D

I finished Vampire's Bride by Gena Showalter yesterday (loved it), and now I'm moving on to The Scot and I by Elizabeth Thornton. (No touchstones for it, no clue why...)

Enjoy!

I finished What I Did For Love by Susan Elizabeth Phillips and really liked it. In anticipation of a trip to Savannah next week, I am reading Magnolias, Moonlight and Murder by Sara Rosett, a mystery that takes place in Georgia. It's okay but I'm waiting for Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil to arrive from Bookmooch.

I've added Soulless to my wishlist as well. Thanks for telling us about it, anamuhandis. Sounds like it will be a good one.

I'm currently reading a tween/teen adventure called Into the Wild by Sarah Beth Durst and today picked up Tempt Me at Twilight to start when I finish. I'm looking forward to it!

I'll be curious to hear what you all think of Soulless! For some reason, it got me on a Regency kick, so I read The Demon Rake by Gayle Buck, which was very enjoyable.
