Fields of Blood: The Prairie Grove Campaign, nice little study of this overlooked campaign...interesting personalities! I like Shea's writing.

Overlooked, but now on the wish-list!
Thanks A.

LTNS pal; let me also recommend the even better: Pea Ridge: Civil War Campaign in the West by Shea; great camapign coverage.

Noted, thanks. Great cover. May I ask why you rated it worse than the excellent Pea Ridge?

#4: hmm, meatier volume with more analysis? I'm not a particularly high rater. I'm glad to have both books & am rereading PEA at the moment (& just reread Wilson's Creek). Incredible campaign, mostly overlooked; I certainly came to them late in life. I guess the story of Quantrill is also of interest but I never got into the guerrilla genre.
