50 Book Challenge: leighwh's 2009-2010 challenge

Hi everyone: I started my 50 book challenge over Thanksgiving weekend and will go til Thanksgiving weekend 2010. I'm going to go for more if possible. Am energized by the challenge. I'm be working from a variety of lists that interest me: 99 Novels by Anthony Burgess, 13 Ways of Looking at the Novel by Jane Smiley, the BBC Big Read, 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die, and my huge to be read pile. Here's what I've read so far:

1. Zeitoun - completed 11/24, reviewed
2. The Secret Life of Bees - completed 11/28, reviewed
3. Things Fall Apart - in progress

Another great book!

A belated welcome to the challenge, leighwh! I've also been using the 1001 Books list, though I have been doing really poorly with it this year! I loved both The Secret Life of Bees and The Handmaid's Tale, it looks like we might have similar tastes there. Happy reading :)

Finished 4. The Handmaid's Tale. Whew! Will review and then on to something completely different, either What is the What or The Fan Man.
