1. You Gotta Read This (Recommended by Friends)
1.1 The Help by Kathryn Stockett

Recommended by my favorite librarian. Such a good read. It really sucked me in. She was right.

1.2 The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

Recommended by my sister and just about every book list.

1.3 A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly

Recommended by my favorite librarian.

1.4 The Man Who Was Thursday by G.K. Chesterton

Recommended by my friend, Aaron. I'm still not sure what to think of it, to be honest.

1.5 Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card

Recommended by my husband. A fine read.

1.6 Patches of Godlight: Father Tim's Favorite Quotes by Jan Karon

Recommended by my coworker. I love quotes, but it did seem like a ploy to sell more books.

1.7 A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter M. Miller

Recommended by my good friend, Aaron. A very good read!!

1.8 The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery

Recommended by my dear friend, Rosebud. I loved it!

8. Freebies (ER and gifts)
8.1 Emmy's Equal by Marcia Gruver

I felt it was an enjoyable book, definitely. It wasn't the best book I've ever read, but it was a nice read. However, there was only one point in the book where I really cared about the characters - about what happened to them. I was confused about the relationship between Emmy and Nash at the beginning. The book started out slowly, but picked up at the end. I don't want to turn anyone off from reading it! I did enjoy it!

8.2 One Week in December by Holly Chamberlin

8.3 It All Changed in an Instant: More Six-Word Memoirs by Writers Famous & Obscure by Smith, Larry

8.4 Critical Care: A New Nurse Faces Death, Life, and Everything in Between by Theresa Brown

8.5 Cutting Myself in Half by Taylor LeBaron

You gotta admire the kid. He was 297 pounds going into 7th grade, and now is 145 at 17. He turned fitness into a game, and has a sound health ethic now. The book really inspired me. But I do wonder if it's overboard to NEVER have a piece of birthday cake. But you know, he's maintained his goal weight for a couple years, and I'm still 50 pounds overweight. So I say, do what works for ya, Taylor!!

8.6 Head in the Clouds by Karen Witemeyer

6.2 The Checklist Manifesto: How to Get Things Right by Atul Gawande
6.3 Eating in the Light of the Moon by Anita A. Johnston, PhD
6.4 Hiroshima by John Hersey
6.5 The Plan of Chicago by Carl Smith
6.6 The Death of Innocents: An Eyewitness Account of Wrongful Executions by Sister Helen Prejean - pretty good, but it took me a while to slog through the first parts when she was giving details about the two cases.
6.7 The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World with Kids by Bob Sehlinger - We are going to WDW in a month, and I think this book will have left me very prepared!
6.8 The Little Guide to Your Well-Read Life by Steve Leveen
6.9 Eats, Shoots & Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation by Lynne Truss
