I joined the 50 Books Challenge for 2009 and I'm cutting it really close as I have read 45 books so far this year and have 5 more to read in the next 8 days! I'm going to push myself in 2010 to aim for 75 and hopefully do it in a timely manner. I'm going to try to coincide this group with the Books Off the Shelf Challenge as I really want to make an effort to read the books I own (books bought after January 1, 2010 don't count!).
It will certainly be a challenge for me and one that I will relish.

Haha, I can identify--I'm at 71/75 for my 2009 challenge, so I'll be cutting it close, too. Good luck, this year and in '10!
