Hello everyone! My name is Jen. This will be my 1st year attempting this challenge. Last year I tried the 999 challenge..but I came nowhere near close to finishing! I had many things come up during the year that kept me from reading. 50 books seems like a much more obtainable goal!
Anyway, I suppose I'll start listing books here as I finish them. If I'm feeling ambitious I may include a comment or a review. More than likely I'll just rate them with stars (1-5, 5 being amazing, 4 good, 3 ok, 2 not good, 1 horrid).
What I'm going to do is list the 1st book I finish, even if it is before Jan 1st, and I'll just keep track of my year by that.
Here's a master list of finished books:
1. The Titan's Curse by Rick Riordan
2. Queen of Babble Gets Hitched by Meg Cabot
3. The Ladies' No. 1 Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith
4. Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
5. The Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan
6.The Ayatollah Begs to Differ by Hooman Majd
7. American Gods by Neil Gaiman
8. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
9. Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll
10. Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella
11. White Teacher by Vivian Gussin Paley
12. Bite Me by Christopher Moore
13. Persian Myths by Vesta Sarkhosh Curtis
14. School: The Story of American Public Education by Sarah Mondale & Sheila Bernard
15. City of Glass by cassandraclare::Cassandra Clare
16. Princess of the Midnight Ball by Jessica Day George
17. Does My Head Look Big in This? by 2054678::Randa Abdel-Fattah
18. 5246849::Graceling by Kristin Cashore
19. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
20. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
21. Becoming Jane Eyre by Sheila Kohler
22. Lady Audley's Secret by Mary Elizabeth Braddon
23. Heart of Darkness
24. Dead Until Dark
25. Naamah's Kiss
26. Farewell to Manzanar
27. The Brightest Star in the Sky
28. Storm Glass
29. Naamah's Curse
30. Fire Study
31. The Book of Lost Things
32. Sea Glass
Change of plans. I'm only going to list what I've read. No star system or anything.

1.) The Titan's Curse by Rick Riordan - I'm loving Rick Riordan's series about Percy Jackson! It's independent level reading I believe, but it's right up my alley because of all the Greek mythology included in it. The Titan's Curse is #3 in the series (The Lightning Thief is #1 & The Sea of Monsters is #2). I would give this book 5 stars!

Hi Jen, welcome and good luck with your challenge!

2.) Queen of Babble Gets Hitched by Meg Cabot - Pretty cute book. 3rd in the series. It had been awhile since I had read the 2nd book, so I was a little lost in the beginning. I'd give this book 4 stars.

Hi, jak1886. Good luck with your 2010 50 Book Challenge, I've just posted my thread yesterday (http://www.librarything.com/topic/80473) to start off the challenge but I'm not listing any books until tomorrow (New Year's Day) but I have listed showing that I'm going to start reading The Stand by Stephen King tomorrow.
Good luck again and have a good New Year :)

Hi Jordan. Thank you. I'll be by your thread to check it out.
3.) The Ladies' No. 1 Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith - I read this book because my grandma has told me often that its a good book. Its not something that I would normally read. But it was cute and I'll probably end up reading the next one when I finish a couple other books. I'd give this book 4 stars.
Next up: Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman

4.) Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman -This book was a little odd. Also a little graphic in some areas. Overall, it was ok. I'd say 3 stars.

Hi Jen, just dropped by to see how you're doing on your 50 Book Challenge. I see you have already gotten through four books already, I'm impressed as I'm only just coming to the end of Stephen King's The Stand. Well you're making good progress so far, keep it up :)

Hi Jord,
Thanks. :) My pace has slowed down a little because I just started college again last week, so I have a lot of reading and other work to do, though some of the books I'm reading for classes can count for this too. ;)
5.) The Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan - I absolutely love these books. This one is number 4 in the series and its still good! Still getting 5's from me!

6.) Just finished The Ayatollah Begs to Differ. Pretty good. Very enlightening as to the mentality of Iranians and their government. I'd give it 4 stars.
Not sure if I'm going to be able to complete this challenge! I have so much to do after starting school again recently that I don't have a lot of time to read for pleasure! I actually read The Ayatollah Begs to Differ because of school. Well, I'll keep trying though! ;)

7.) American Gods. Not bad. It took me forever to read because I started school in the middle of it. I do not have much time to read outside of books for class, but I'm slowly plugging along. I'd give this book 3 stars.

11.) White Teacher - This one was a book for one of my classes, but it was actually quite good.
12.) Bite Me
13.) Persian Myths
