I've recently resumed playing after a three-year hiatus. Fortunately my local unit has a guaranteed-partner game, so I went to that and connected with a guy who was looking for a partner. After two weeks of getting the rust off with 49% results, we've started scoring the last three weeks. Right now I'm really enjoying it; the standard at this club is pretty good.
Are the rest of you playing these days?

I play two or three times a week at my local club. I went to my first tournament back in October and have played in at least one a month since then (there always seems to be a sectional tournament going on somewhere within easy driving distance).
My regular partner started playing again this year after a twenty-year hiatus. The bidding had changed, but the play of the hand stays the same. I was lucky to find someone with so much experience and we often do pretty well together (the games are stratified which helps).

One of the best ways to get back into the game is by playing online. bridgebase.com is a very popular site and is free. One caveat is that since it's free it draws a good deal of very, very bad players who label themselves as experts. But, the best players in the world can also be found on there.
Welcome back to the game!

Have started with bridge after a five-year hiatus, but still not have visited the local club... Did try bridgebase.com but I feel a bit lost there. Did not feel as home there as I did when playing at okbridge 15-20 years ago.

I've never tried okbridge, but I'm on BBO all the time -- feel free to look me up, my username is "Sweevil".
