A fascinating look at van Goh the reader and bibliophile:
http://www.bookpatrol.net/2010/01/librarys-letters-reveal-real-van-gogh.html

Also, a link to all of his letters, (English translations avail.) from which can be gleaned a look at his voracious reading:

For example of awkward sentance, feel free to keep the preceding and this.

I have a copy of Vincent Van Gogh's Letters To Emile Bernard. His accompanying art work, sometimes drawn in the middle of the letters, is amazing.

Hey ben your initial link is dead but I found this site that shows all the literature van Gogh cited in any of his letters: http://vangoghletters.org/vg/literature.html

Anyone wanna help tackle this into a legacy library?

Thanks for the update! It's a nearly 8-year-old link now, so I'm not surprised it needed updating.

Thanks Ben and Joshua, as a VVG fan it’s interesting to have this list.
