I stumbled across the passing of this fellow for the Written in Stone Group. Claude Blair was apparently the guy who knew just about everything there is to know about armor. He was the metals specialist for the Victoria and Albert Museum for many years. He's written a number of books about European Armour. Check out his pic. Sort of reminds me of Poleaxe. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/obituaries/article7092294.ece

That is sad. I just finished his European Armour: circa 1066 to circa 1700 a couple of months ago. Gave it five stars. Varielle, some of us can't help it if we were born 600 years too late. I do like the picture of him in the link though. Excellent looking harness, though I'm immeasurably better looking.
