I heard owl sounds coming from the computer.
Thought it was Molly the Owl.
Realized they were coming from the game on the other computer.
Figured I would check on Molly the Owl anyway.
Molly cam was down.
Refreshed the page.
Still down.
As long as I'm at the computer, might as well refresh HE.
Oh look! New posts!
Read all the updated threads.
Didn't find anything I wanted to add.
This has never stopped me before.
Started a new thread.

This sort of thing happens to me all the time.

Hearing owls? Spooky...

4foggidawn

I was actually thinking more of the "finding myself refreshing posts on LT when I sat down at the computer to do something completely different" angle. But sure, whatever!

Whoo-oo-oo, whoo-oo-ooooo

JP made me come to admire her new thread. ;)

*looks around*

Well, what a lovely new thread! It's shiny! I can see my face in it!
Or is that just the computer screen? Anyway...

You're right cat, it is a lovely thread.....

Apr 18, 2010, 8:39 am

Is this the thread where
We have to type everything
In short sentences, so it almost
Looks like a poem
Even though there is nothing
Remotely poetic in what
I'm posting?

How did I get here? I asked my mom

She says I came on a fluffy white cloud tied with a pink ribbon bow!

9PollyAnnaHP

Yes, I agree a lovely thread,
if only I could think of
something interesting to
add.

I was going to rewrite
the above in
iambic pentameter
to keep with Mr. A's
theory, but I decided that
would be too much work.

I turned on the computer to write in a review about my ER book.
After I wrote the review, I figured I should stop by and see how my new thread was doing.
Since there were new posts on the thread, I felt obligated to add my own.
So here I am. :o)

And LOL MrA and polly!

And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack
And you may find yourself in another part of the world
And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife
And you may ask yourself: Well...How did I get here?

Second star to the right and straight on 'til morning.

Sounds kinda like Peter Pan meets Dr. Suess?! How amusing MrA!

14MrAndrew
Apr 20, 2010, 8:17 am

close enough... David Byrne meets Peter Pan. Those lyrics go through my head every time i see this thread title.

~Checked that my blog post came out OK. (I'm hosting a blog carnival of homeschooling this week.)
~Checked on the owlets.
~Checked Facebook
~Came to HE because I save the best for last. ;o)

Working on a video for my wiki and it's not going so great. The site won't save it.

~Followed breadcrumbs... curse you JP!

19jugglingpaynes
Apr 21, 2010, 10:30 am

*Sprinkles some more breadcrumbs down for MrA. Thinks better of it and replaces the crumbs with homemade cookies.*

That will bring them in.

~Went on to see if I received an email I was waiting for.
~Here I am.

I followed the trail of homemade cookies.
Yum.

I was following the trail of homemade cookie crumbs... :(

Did someone come by with homemade cookies? They smell wonderful!

I have come to see
But no longer are there
Even cookie crumbs to view
Woe is me!

26foggidawn
Apr 21, 2010, 11:52 am

Maybe we should bake some more.

27AnnaClaire
Apr 21, 2010, 12:23 pm

I thought you already were. Or at least, I smell chocolate chip cookies. (And it's lunch time, and I can't go until there's someone else to look after the phones!)

28jugglingpaynes
Apr 21, 2010, 5:36 pm

Oh sorry we ran out. Catbastet made chocolate chip scones. Will those do?
*starts a new trail with chocolate chip scones*

29mamzel
Apr 21, 2010, 5:38 pm

*wipes crumbs off of shirt*

Thanks, foggi.

30PollyAnnaHP
Apr 21, 2010, 8:04 pm

I followed the trail of delicious chocolate chip scones.....I only indulged in a few so someone else could also find their way here. Mmmmmmmmm they were the best!

31jugglingpaynes
Apr 21, 2010, 10:30 pm

~So I'm back with a question: Is seven chocolate chip cookies enough for begging forgiveness for missing the orthodontist appointment last week? Catbastet says yes, but that might be because she wants more cookies for us.

32biblioholic29
Apr 22, 2010, 8:22 am

I think that depends on how many people work in the office. If seven people work there, it's perfect, if more or less, 7 could create a problem.

33jugglingpaynes
Apr 22, 2010, 8:55 am

Only a family set up. He has an office in his home. His wife handles reception and paperwork. 2 people. Unless you count their 2 sons, but they won't be home.

34MrAndrew
Apr 22, 2010, 9:35 am

7 doesn't go into 2. Unless it's cookies.

35mamzel
Apr 22, 2010, 11:26 am

My brother and I had a system to divide things fairly. One would cut and the other would have first choice.

36ejj1955
Apr 22, 2010, 1:33 pm

I was one of five kids; that was the system my mother instituted, also.

37jugglingpaynes
Apr 22, 2010, 1:50 pm

It's a moot point now. I forgot to bring the cookies. *hits head against wall*
Now what am I going to do with these seven cookies?

38foggidawn
Apr 22, 2010, 3:49 pm

We never have trouble figuring out what to do with cookies at my house.

39ejj1955
Apr 22, 2010, 4:35 pm

I treated that as a rhetorical question. If it was a serious inquiry, I'll be happy to send JP a message with my address and take over the "problem" for her.

When I saw this thread title
my response was the same as MrA's,
(that being David Byrne lyrics)
which gave me pause, I must admit

My next response was
Hey! Only 39 posts!
That might be do-able.

so, here I am

I like cookies.

41jugglingpaynes
Apr 22, 2010, 6:12 pm

#39: ejj, I figured if I said that everyone would just come on over!
What, do you all need engraved invitations?

42ejj1955
Apr 22, 2010, 6:29 pm

Watch out, my car is going into the shop, so I might be mobile again soon! there will be no keeping me away from cookie offers then.

43MrAndrew
Apr 22, 2010, 6:37 pm

>#35: That's a good system. You take the knife, cut it in half, then take both pieces.

What are they gonna do? You have a knife...

44catbastet
Apr 22, 2010, 7:02 pm

Very true, MrA. ;)

45ejj1955
Apr 22, 2010, 8:44 pm

They are going to tell Mommy on you. That trumps the knife every time.

46mamzel
Apr 23, 2010, 10:46 am

And you did not mess with my Mommy!
