Currently reading Summer at Tiffany. Loved Helene Hanff's 84 Charing Cross Road, 1940's Manhattan, same time period. Another favorite is Laurie Colwin's Home Cooking - in her Greenwich Village apartment newly married.

Any suggestions for more readalikes?

A lot but not all of Them: A Memoir of Parents by Francine du Plessix Gray takes place in Manhattan, and a lot of Just Kids by Patti Smith. Both are excellent.
