This mystery involves two cousins and a summer cottage. Ali and Emma spend a summer at the same summer cottage that their mothers did. While there they meet a mean girl that only they ever happen to see. Their mothers never did talk much about their summers at the lake. If you want to read the book stop reading now. When the mothers were young at the lake their friend accidentally drowned. Her body was never found and the mothers never told anyone that they were there. The mean girl ends up being the ghost of the drowned girl. She wants her body found and a proper burial.

I started taking turns reading this with my son. It is an excellent mystery that I made sure we had time to read every PM. Although parts are easy to predict the ghost girl and what she wants is not. I would recommend this book to young adults ages 11-16. Older/more mature young adults may find the book too basic at times.

Cody - I completely agree with you that this is an easy mystery to figure out. I have a hard time reading Mary Downing Hahn because many of her books are like that. (I like stumper mysteries!) That being said, many of my 5th and 6th graders love reading her books because of that very reason - a simple mystery. :)

I was disappointed by how easy the mystery was to figure out. However, then I had to remember who the target audience is. Would I have been able to figure it out so fast if I were 11?
