Which Sweet Valley series did you read, and when?

It's amazing to look back and realize that I was reading some sort of Sweet Valley books from Grades 1 through 8. The Sweet Valley Kids books were some of the first non-picture books I ever read, along with Babysitter's Little Sister. Then Sweet Valley Twins, and SVU, and SVH... which I read in that order, for some reason. I never read the other minor series though, like Unicorn Club.

The Karen books! Those were the first books I ever really got into, haha, cause my sister was reading the Babsitter books so I read the Little Sister books.

The series I read for Sweet Valley were the SVH, then SVU, then the senior year books.

I read most of the Sweet Valley Twins (and Friends) series during elementary school. Sweet Valley Kids was also another one I liked, even though it was for slightly younger kids. Unfortunately, by middle school, I gave up reading SV books (at least in public :), because it was so "uncool" to read "kids" books (even though we were still kids!).

The Baby-sitters Club was also one of my faves, of course, back then; plus many more series (Nancy Drew, etc.).

It wasn't until I was out of high school that I started re-collecting all my favorite childrens series. The one I really liked by Francine Pascal was the SVH: Senior Year ones. The cliffhangers really keep you going. I'm still working my way through all those books I'd neglected as a kid.

I've never really been able to get into the "later" Sweet Valley series... Namely, the Senior Years and Fearless and SVU.

I think the first SV books I read were Twins, and I remember reading some of the Kids ones when I was "technically" too old for them (I think I was in like fourth grade by then?)... Then I got into the SVH series, and I still have three huge boxes of SVH and SV Twins books (with a few Kids mixed in there).

And I loved those Babysitter's Little Sister books, too.... If I recall correctly, that was the first actual series I fell in love with.

I read the Sweet Valley Twins books for a while, and then graduated to the Sweet Valley High ones, reading the regular series and the Super Editions for a while. I am trying to remember the last ones that I read of each series....Unfortunately Wikipedia doesn't have a list of the Twins series....

I know that I read up until #32 The New Jessica and up to #6 in the Super Editions Spring Fever. After that, the plots start seeming increasingly unfamiliar. Never read any of the Senior Year Ones, the weird "legacy" ones that describe the history of the prominent families, or the "scary" ones. :)

I am loving this blog The Dairi Burger that is recapping and re-reading SVH books (among others). The author is fantastically snarky (and no, its not me, I only wish it were....)
