So one-half of the year is done, unfortunately I am not even half-way through to 75 (but am past one-third). Off course, I will keep working at it and hope to make a bigger dent this summer.
I finished the last list with 23 books. Here are a few more that I finished, to start off my second half of the year.
Congrats to those who have finished, or are already close to the finish line -- and happy reading to you all!
24. In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan
25. Dead in the Family by Charlaine Harris
26. Roses by Leila Meacham

27. The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell
28. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
29. Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
30. The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender
Happy reading to all in this challenge!

I loved The Hunger Games. I hope you enjoyed it as well.

Alcottacre - I did enjoy both books in the series and am already looking forward to reading Mockingjay.

#5: So am I! I have had Mockingjay on pre-order since I found out its publication date :)
7BaileysAndBooks
Very slow second half of July (I think because I am in the midst of four books at once, and now today, make that five). So, I only finished up one other book in July for a total of five finished books. 75 seems very far away! :D
31. 29: A Novel by Adena Halpern

Don't stress too much about the numbers, as long as you are enjoying your books! :)

#8 - Thanks BookAngel_a! I hope your reading is going well this summer too. Happy Reading!

So far, so good. I'm reading less than last year, but trying not to let that bother me. :)

A few more to add to my end of August list of completed books:
32. The Passage by Justin Cronin
33. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling
34. Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
35. The Red Queen by Philippa Gregory
40 more books in four months, not likely. But that's fine, it's a good goal to try and reach each year and maybe some day I will hit the mark.
Hope you all enjoyed your reading this summer!

#11: I am looking forward to reading The Passage soon! I hope you enjoyed that one.
You are right - 75 is a good goal for a year. I hope you will continue to try right here with the group, Tam.

#12 - I will definitely stay with the group. I appreciate all the encouragement you all give.
I did enjoy The Passage but there were points where I slogged through it. I hope you enjoy it.
Did you get/finish Mockingjay yet?

I have Mockingjay but another group member and I are supposed to be reading the trilogy together, so I am waiting for her.

I think I might actually read The Passage after all... reviews seem to be split on it, so I should just find out for myself. Lucky for you to have read Mockingjay already! I don't have my copy yet, but I'm rather eager...

#15 - Looking forward to your thoughts on The Passage and on Mockingjay (which I devoured, got it one day, finished the next). I hope to have my reviews for both up soon.

You are quite welcome :)

Here's a mid-month update. Thirty-five more books to go, I don't see that happening but I am a little more along in reading at this time than I was last year, and I'm enjoying the reading journey.
39. The Wave by Susan Casey (ARC from publisher via Shelf Awareness)
40. One Day by David Nicholls (ARC win from publisher via Shelf Awareness)
Happy Reading, Everyone!

#23: I just finished Room the other day. What did you think of it?
25BaileysAndBooks
#24: I really enjoyed it. I was quite impressed in Donoghue's ability to make the point of view from a five year old that was quite believable, and not as distracting as I thought it might be.
How about you?

#25: I loved it. I thought Donoghue did an excellent job. It makes me wonder how old her children are. I would think exposure to a 5-year-old on a consistent basis would certainly help in writing a book such as Room.

Wow, not one book to add for November. But I certainly started a few. I was off to such a great start, not looks like I won't even hit last year's number.
At least I know one of the first things too add to my 2011 Resolutions. :D
And most importantly, no matter what, I am loving the reading journey.
Happy Reading, and Happy Holidays, to you all!!

Seven books in two weeks - not likely, but here is my mid-month update, I did at least finish up one book.
43. Torment by Lauren Kate
Happy year-end reading. Looking forward to all your year-end wrap-ups!
