The new Field Guide to the Birds of Colombia by Miles McMullan, Thomas Donegan & Alonso Quevedo is out: http://www.proaves.org/guia/ . Thumbnails at the bottom right. I haven't seen it yet - has anyone? It won't make Hilty's ground-breaking 1986 Guide to the Birds of Colombia obsolete, but the new guide should be a much handier portable companion for birding Colombia.

I just came across the announcement for this same book and have already placed an order. Hopefully, it's August date will hold true!

On a different note, I finally received my copy of Cleere's "Nightjars, etc." today. So far, the photos are impressive just as you stated last September in your advance copy sneak-peak!
