Please post your comments here about Middlemarch Books 5-6.

I just finished book 5. The plot thickens!!! This one really ended on a cliffhanger. Looks like Bulastrode's chickens are coming home to roost. And what of Ladislaw? Mr. Casaubon turned out to be really rotten. There were at times glimmers of humanity, but in the end, he was rotten. What will Dodo do? I am enjoying this book more and more as I read along.

I finished Book 6 last Thursday, and the part about the auction just cracked me up. I loved reading more about Mary Garth and Fred Vincy. Another cliffhanger. The book is really moving along quickly.

Augh! Casaubon, what a combination of pitiful and malicious. I kept hoping he would show better qualities and redeem himself, but no.
