As the title implies, this is only a list, so people can quickly see what's out of print. Please do NOT post comments or your personal opinions, or your personal experience, or an eBay auction... in fact, please do not post anything unless they specifically apply to an OOP book/series! Below are some of the ones people had listed before the last thread got totally derailed. Please add more as you notice them. Also please bracket the books or make the title bold so it will be easy to spot. If a book is OOP on one series (such as the Famous Editions), but available in another series (such as the 100 Greatest books), please do not list it as OOP. Also, let's keep this list limited to books that have only recently gone OOP. Thanks :)

Anne of Green Gables by Montgomery
The Civil War by Shelby Foote
Chronicles of Narnia by Lewis
Foundation Series
Horatio Hornblower Series by Forester
Thousand Nights and a Night by Richard Burton

GLORIOUS ART #502 seems to have been discontinued. One of the books is offered individually in the newest catalog at a higher price: THE GLORY OF VENICE - 2664004. They also pulled PAUL CÉZANNE out of the series - 2664005. When one puts in 2664001 out pops FLORENCE AND THE RENAISSANCE. The search engine also brought back THE PHARAOHS: MASTER BUILDERS for 2664002 but 2664003 is blank.

SHELBY FOOTE: THE CIVIL WAR: A NARRATIVE 2420 is also gone.

It looks like all 7 digit numbers are actually books pulled out of another series and sold individually at a higher price, but this is not always the case. Some books were given shorter numbers when they were pulled out.

Yup -- they have ended it. I was a subscriber and haven't seen a book in at least 4 months. They claimed that one more was coming... but no clue if or when it will ever arrive.

Freeman's 4 volume Washington biography has been out of print for nearly 2 years, and the 4 volume Illustrated Legends of King Arthur has been gone for about the same amount of time.

if I am not mistaken, Freeman's unabridged Washington biography was a seven volume set, now out of print. The 4-volume Washington bio is by Flexner and that is also long OOP. The Freeman was yellowish-gold with a teal inlay on the spine (looks better than it sounds) and the Flexner is a dark blue leather.

>15 UK_History_Fan: You are correct. Also, the Freeman set is the older of the two.

It appears the Hemingway Set may now be out of print:

17 I only received a couple of books in the series before they stopped. Its a shame but perhaps there weren't enough readers to support it? We'll probably never know.

Unfortunately, it appears that the Fitzgerald set is now out of print. I was just about to purchase them next month, too...

>19 Arknight:, I suspect the Fitzgerald set will be brought back as individual volumes, as has been done with Hemingway and Dickens

Looks like you were right. One of the Fitzgerald books is showing up on the website now:

Notice that the price has been raised from $65.00 to $79.00.

>21 Arknight:: It still remains to be seen if they will bring back each of the titles in the original collection or if they are merely clearing out overstock of volumes left in inventory.

Considering there are countless volumes in the warehouse it likely was overstock.
