I was wondering if we should start thinking about what the schedule of SK books everyone will be reading will be or is it still too early to start thinking about what books we' be readng? Any preferences? What order should we read the books?
Any suggestions? I just wanted to throw this out there and open up discussions for everyone.

I hope that we continue to read in order of publication. I will defer to jseger because he has made the lists since we have started and I would imagine he probably has already finished a 2011 list.

#4 - Oh, you give me too much credit!
I have't started on 2011, but was assuming we will keep with publication order. The only thing that is a wrinkle at all was The Gunslinger where we went by the 'wide release' publication rather than the original, extremely limited-edition one.
I'll knock together a list and have it posted in just a little bit.

Okay, below is a (very tentative) schedule for 2011. Now, a number of the books here are fatsos at 700 pages+, so we could stretch any of these out to two months. Also I want to double check the list I used (I'm at work right now. I have better info at home.)
I purposely seperated the two Dark Tower books out a little bit.

Jseger, you do spoil us! Your list looks great. I'm eager to see the finished product. I appreciate that you divide the 'fatties' up. It helps with the millions of other books that I want to read!

This is ... a little off topic, but could someone tell me the next two books so that I can get them lined up? I'm discovering that I like having both an e- version and an audio version. That can take a while.

Do you mean October, November, December 2010?
Those would be:
October - The Tommyknockers
November - The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger
December - The Dark Half

I think I am going to get in on this "Flavor of the Month" discussion action... it sounds like a great idea! I can hardly believe that I haven't yet.
While at one point or another I have read all of King's work, often multiple times, it has been a long time since I re-read many of them. More often than not these days they just occupy the "The Wall of King".
.
It'd be a treat to re-read (or more likely, listen to this time around) my old favorites and discuss them with other fans. So many thanks to jseger and everyone else who organized this! If I can get The Tommyknockers busted out, I'll see you on the October thread, otherwise November for sure. :-)

It's great to have you along for the ride. It has been a lot of fun joining in with these group reads.

I've been wanting to read Dolores Claiborne for quite awhile. Looks like 2011 (and this group) will get me to stop procrastinating.

2011 looks like fun. It's almost stuff I haven't read in forever or have not read at all. I should work to make for time for fun reading like this list. I will do my darnest to keep up with it.

Just a quick question, are we not reading The Dark Tower II: the Drawing of the Three? According to this list we were going to read it in March but I know that we have had discussions when to include the Dark Tower books. I'm not complaining, I'm just making sure that I didn't miss something. I'm behind and am trying to get caught up so I want to make sure that I have the upcoming books ready.

Hey! You're right! I screwed up! It's because 'The Sun Dog' from Four Past Midnight leads directly to Needful Things.
Okay, April will be The Drawing of the Three. Sorry!

Hey anybody who follows this.
I was going through King's bibliography (yes, I do have that kind of time) and it looks like the uncut reissue of The Stand was skipped (I couldn't for the life of me remember when the reissue was released).
I don't want to jam it in next month, because I think Insomnia and Rose Madder should be read back-to-back.
Also, the reissue is such a fatty and folks get busy around the holidays and all, so I was thinking we could keep Rose Madder for October and read The Stand over November and December. Does that sound good? Any feedback?
If the change is acceptable, can go redo post #7

I won't be reading The Stand again so whatever everyone decides is fine with me. I read the uncut version before because that is the one I have and I don't think I will tackle the abridged version. Hopefully you tuck it in there and I can use that time to get caught up with the group!:)

>17 jseger9000: I'm with cal. I probably won't reread The Stand since I've read both versions previously, but it would be a prime opportunity to play catch up. (I'm nearing the end of The Waste Lands now.)

I'm reading Nightmares and Dreamscapes now but I skipped Gerald's Game and The Waste Lands.

So will The Green Mile be moved to December?
22jseger9000
Wow! Sorry for the delay!
The Stand (uncut) is covering November and December and The Green Mile will be January (and February maybe?)
