How would you like to find out when you are twenty-two that all of your life has been a lie?

Or that the father you thought was dead was really alive?

What about the fact that you have a great power to free your family, the family you have never met, from a powerful curse?

That is what happens to Emi while her mother is in Europe and she is house sitting. Emi and the guy she has a gigantic crush on decide to go to Austria to see if they can solve the mystery. While there, Emi meets her family and tries to puzzle out the truth about a mysterious legend and who she can trust.

I really liked this book. It was fast-moving and the plot kept me interested. I liked the character of Emi, who was shy - yet when she had to be brave, she rose to the challenge. I have read a lot of mysteries lately, and this was one of the best. ( )
