A nice story about learning to respect a family member and communicate together. This reminded me of my own seamstress grandmother who would often make me beautiful clothes that I didn't want to wear because they were itchy. I surely hurt her feelings many times over this issue. In a curriculum I would use this book to talk about communication and respect for elders and family members. It could also be used in talking about the different states and Hawaiian culture.
