Mary Lennox was ugly and cross.Nobody loved her and she loved nobody. When she was nine years old,her parents die.So she went to live with her uncle in a big,old house in the country. There were many gardens round the house. There she found the secret garden which had high walls and no door.
I felt sorry for her.I thought that she was ugly because she had never been loved even by parents. But she met kind people, she chaged. And she changed person who was like what she used to be!I enjoyed.
This is a heart warming story.
Mary is an ugly girl, but gradually she becomes a nice girl.
I like the story thet the person gets better like Mary.
Mary is agly girl and does not have any friends. Her parents died when she is young, so she came to her uncle's house. She was not loved by her parent at all. One day she found the secret garden. In the garden she met an boy who was not loved by his parent like her. And she became an nice woman gradually in this garden.
I like the story very much, especially a process of her growth spiritual since she met a boy like her. After I finished reading this book, I thought love of parent is very very imortant for children.
Mary is a girl who don't like other people.
But one day she found "the secret garden".
This encounter changed her life.

I felt that this story is easy to read because it is written by plain style.
And this story's expansion is good.
The word "the secret garden" makes me excited.
The main character Mary found a secret garden in her uncle's house. She began to bring it back to life. From then, wonderful things happen to Mary and the secret garden.

Mary is the main character of this book. Mary's parents were dead, and Mary's parents don't like her. Everyone doesn't her. But she go to her uncle's house, and she can make a friend. Then she and he make only their garden.
Firstly, I think Mary is a pity girl. However it is really good that she is loved by someone. By read this book, when you finished reading, you will become to feel happy.
One day, the thin, ugly girl,Mary Lennox, finds a garden that has high walls and no door. It was a secret garden.

Frances Hodgson Burnett wrote for children and adults, publishing both plays and novels. She was born in Manchester, England, on November 24, 1849. Her father, who owned a furniture store, died when she was only four years old. Her mother struggled to keep the family business running while trying to raise five children. Finally, because of the show more failing Manchester economy, the family sold the store and immigrated to the United States. In 1865 they settled just outside of Knoxville, Tennessee. Hoping to offset her family's continuing financial troubles, Burnett began to submit her stories to women's magazines. She was immediately successful. In the late 1860s her stories were published in nearly every popular American magazine. Burnett helped to support her family with income from the sale of her stories, even saving enough to finance a trip back to England, where she stayed for over a year. In 1879, Burnett published her first stories for children; two of her most popular are A Little Princess and The Secret Garden. In contrast to an extremely successful career, Burnett's personal life held many challenges. Her son Lionel was diagnosed with tuberculosis at age 15, from which he never recovered. His death inspired several stories about dead or dying children. Burnett lived her later years on Long Island, New York. She died in 1924. (Bowker Author Biography) show less
