Reno's Chance

I was perusing goodreads one morning and I found this e-book and had to read it. I was lucky enough to be able to download it onto my Nook and I read it all in a few short hours. It was pretty good, it had it's cheesy moments (just a couple) but the rest of the story made up for the cheese.

Raven has always had it bad for her best friends older brother, Reno, who just happens to be a Navy Seal and from the way he is described in the story almost the definition of human perfection according to Raven. But being that Reno is a military man that makes him off limits to Raven or at least that's what she thinks anyway. She's also always wondered what it would be like to "be with" Reno.

Now Reno on the other hand has also had it bad for Raven show more and has decided that now he's going to go after what he wants, Raven. He's holding NOTHING back. All's fair in this battle of wills.

I guess what kind of turned me off a tiny bit towards this story was some of the cheesy dialogue. I can handle some cheese but I think there was just a little bit too much for my liking in this story.

I will say this those, for the cheesy dialogue the sex scenes in this story are SIZZLING! If you have an e-reader I highly recommend this e-book. show less

This is the first book in this series and it about Reno Chavez and Raven McIntyre. It is going to be hard to say much about this story and not give anything away. Reno is a Navy SEAL. He is all dominant alpha male and very much in love with Raven. He has waited for her to grow up and decide that he is the right man for her. He is tired of waiting.

Raven is afraid of committing to Reno because her father was a SEAL and he was killed when she was a child. She is also afraid because her mother was always yelling at her father when he had to go off on missions. Raven is a smart girl. She is also sassy and flirty. Wants Reno she just doesn't know if she can handle him going away on missions all the time.

Ms. Leigh has once again written and show more steaming hot romance that has great characters and love scenes that will melt your reader. It would have been nice to have a longer story. I think that would have made this the perfect story over all. As with most of Ms. Leigh's short stories this is a quick read. Perfect for a day at the lake or by the pool. show less

Lora knows how to engage, the heat is off the charts. Reno is going to convince Raven she loves him. This couple is steamy! Hints at BDSM as Reno likes to hold her in place and threatens to tie her up, as well as the spanking scenes the fire Raven up.

Gave it two stars because I was expecting more of this book. I originally picked this up because I'm in love with her Breeds series and I thought this was going to be just as good. It didn't even came close. I don't know if this series is supposed to be like this, but I'll still give the second book a chance. This one was basically PWP and I didn't connect with the characters. Hell, I didn't HAVE time to connect with the characters. Hoping the next one is better.

Loved it! Yes its pretty much all sex but its LL! She knows how to write good sex! Definitely a story not to be missed if you like Lora Leigh.
