An appealing autumnal story. ( )

I loved this book mostly because of the story behind it! The manuscript and pictures were found after Don's death and his son Roy picked up and completed it. So cool because it turns out to be a very good book!

My favorite part of the book was the illustrations, they drew me into choosing this book to read. I loved the determination of the squirrel and I loved how the students helped him reach his goal. It was also a plus that the book was set in Washington D.C.; it can tie into a history lesson about the monuments and places of our capitol. ( )
