44 months - O has never been to school so this gave her a bit of an idea what her friends do at pre-school. ( )

D.W.'S GUIDE TO PRESCHOOL is a good book for parents to read to their children when they have a child that is starting preschool or for a teacher that has a new student that is not very excited about being at preschool. This book is a slice of life book because it just goes through D.W.'s typical day at preschool. This book have very good details about what happens at a preschool in general. The illustrations give us good depictions of what a classroom looks like as well as being very detailed allowing the child to wonder about what other interesting things that a student may find in their classrooms. Overall this book would be good to use for new classmates. I would use this book in a preschool classroom during the first day of school and then discuss with my class about what they think school will be like as well as what they want to learn. THis book would hopefully allow them to be more comfortable with the coming days of the school year. ( )

This is a great book to help someone get ready for preschool. Marc Brown touches on the big issues ex: sharing and little issues, potty training, when children get together in a classroom. Kudos to Ms. Morgan for keeping it all together. She made me want to consider teaching. ( )
