This title and author were mentioned during a street lit webinar. The slangy dialogue flies fast and furious for several chapters. Then the story finally picks up when Seven meets the manly Zaire during a rough patch with her high school sweetheart Josiah, a future basketball star. It's all relationship drama, missed communication, and emotional highs and lows. Seven finally finds the courage to go it alone for awhile instead of feeling it's got to be one man or another to make her feel good about herself. The book skips over all that character building however, zipping right to a reunion with Zaire months later. Urban girls will eat this up with a spoon. Points off for a cover model who doesn't look at all the size 14 that Seven proudly says she is. ( )
