This story of a rabbit that grows shamrocks for the St. Patrick's Day parade in his town only to lose them in a wind storm wasn't my favorite. Mostly, I took issue with the goat keeping the pot and allowing the rabbit to have back the shamrocks for his necklace. It was apparent to both the rabbit and the goat that the pot and the shamrocks it contained did not belong to the goat. Yet, the resolution was that the goat kept the pot anyway and allowed the rabbit to have back his shamrocks. The wind gave him a gift? Yeah, uh huh. That sounds like the kind of lame excuse that wouldn't fly on the recess yard at school and it shouldn't fly here. The result could have been the same, but if the goat had offered to give back the pot and the rabbit had offered the pot to the goat while keeping the shamrocks for his necklace I would have been much happier.
