Review: "Pond Walk" by Nancy Wallace is a great science book for students in grades k-2. The book introduces to students some of the organisms and plants that can be found in a pond. This book would be useful when introducing students to different types of organisms (such as reptiles) and their characteristics. ( )

The story tells about a bear and his mother taking a nature walk by the pond. Buddy bear draws pictures of the different animals he sees by the pond. The illustrations are collage and use felt, paper and cut outs to tell the story and bring the reader to the pond.
