I really had a hard time relating to Audrey. She came across as paranoid instead of concerned. Her sense of morality also didn't seem to fit in with what we've learned in the previous books about the Edgers. Meaning that she seemed overly concerned with the children and not sleeping with Kaldar. In all the other Edge books, Edgers seem mainly concerned with only themselves or their immediate family. These are the type of people who, in the first book, would sell off Rose to blueblooders. At the same time, Audrey was a thief and con artist, two things that really make sense in the Edge universe. Maybe this was an attempt to show multiple aspects of Audrey's personality, but it seemed very disjointed.

Kaldar, I felt, deserved to be fleshed out more as a character. He seemed to have many different facets but we really only saw the flirty ladies man or the genius conman. I don't know why the author waited until the book was almost over to mention how Kaldar is seen as one of the most dangerous men in the Mire. There were hints of Kaldar's dangerousness, particularly when he discovered Jack and George had stowed away in the wyvern. Mainly Kaldar came across as one dimensional.

All in all, the book didn't really come together for me as much as the previous two books in the series. That being said I totally can't wait for the next installment!

Another page-turner in the Edge series. I started it on audio, but got so into it, I had to check out the print version so I could tear through it.
Kaldar and Audrey are fun romantic leads, and I love how Kaldar’s magic works, but my favorite thing about this book was how the stowaways got involved in the ensuing cons and battles. I wanted to hear more about Jack and George after reading the first book, and I got my wish here in the third.
I really like how this series is structured to feature different main characters each time but keep enough overlap from previous books to keep things familiar.
Love this series—Ilona Andrews is great. ( )

Filled with Magic, Danger, Intrigue, Humor and Amour. Immensely Entertaining.

Kaldar is a chameleon. He can take on any personality and fit into any situation. A Mirror agent, clever, sexy, charming and amusing. Revenge and family is all that matters to him.

Audrey is an investigator in the Broken. She was born and raised as a pick-lock, cat burglar, and grifter. Smart, savvy and beautiful, she uses her talents, looks and knowledge in her work.

Then her father gets her involved in a heist that proves to be dangerously lethal. The Mirror sends Kaldar in to retrieve the item they stole before The Hand can get. And the fun begins!

The chemistry between Kaldar and Audrey is priceless. George, Jack & Gaston are an integral part of the plot line. A lot of the characters from the previous books are in this story and it will grab and hold you throughout from the 1st page to the last word. The action never stops.

An Outstanding Read! ( )

This might be the best one so far, or this might be one of those series where the best one is always the one I read most recently. I love love loved it, and I can't wait for the next edge novel! ( )

If she had only one word to describe Dominic Milano, it would be "unflappable," Audrey Callahan reflected.
