The Transformers: The IDW Collection, Volume One

I'm so excited to get into the IDW run, and this first volume is promising. As with any book featuring works by multiple creators, there are stories of varying quality here, but nothing is bad and a few are very good. I'm not sure if I see the connective thread through all the stories, or why one story refers to another story that isn't printed here (aren't these in chronological order?), but I'll certainly keep reading.

The early IDW works are better than I thought. The continuity and some of the characters have rough edges compared to what IDW would evolve into, but the gems of a good setting are put into place here.
