A thoroughly enjoyable well-scripted film, with Nia Vardalos as the bookish Toula who falls in love with a non-Greek, much to the distress of her father.

Some classic lines, delivered with excellent timing in a fast-paced, amusing and yet poignant story involving the inevitable clash of two very different cultures. Both Greek and non-Greek families are caricatured somewhat, yet recognisable too.

Very highly recommended.

All in all a wonderful feel-good movie. But! portraying a person and the change of how they look is a difficult thing, too difficult for the person's in charge of that department here. ( )
