Pas kort geleden kwam ik tot de ontdekking dat Peter Middendorp een Groninger is. Zijn stukjes in de Volkskrant lees ik regelmatig. Hoog tijd om eens een heel boek te proberen dus. Ik koos voor Eerst had ik een leuke vriendin, juist omdat deze bundel journalistieke stukken bevat.

Mijn eerste verhaal heette 'Anne Frank is niet dood' en werd op 28 januari 1993 gepubliceerd op de voorpagina van Nait Soez'n, het orgaan van de Groninger Studentenbond (GSb), en het merkwaardige aan dit stukje was: ik had een fictief verhaal gegoten in de vorm van een nieuwsbericht.
