I have read every Madeleine L'Engle novel and while I like some much better than others I enjoy all of them at least in part. This is not one of my favorite books by her but it is still quite good. Her writing style always engages me and I find at least one character in every one of her books that I can relate to in some way. ( )

This short story revolves around the idea of being an individual instead of part of the crowd - of making moral choices instead of easy, go along with the crowd choices. I found it interesting that this is included in a series of monographs around the topic of public education. ( )

I inherited this book when a neighbor died. Her daughter saw me reading it in the living room the day she died. It isn't my favorite book, it is a little preachy, but I did like another peek into the Austin family story. ( )
