Another excellent paranormal suspense from Parrish. I really liked that there was more emphasis on the paranormal elements this time around. That was a disappointment for me in the last book.
Olivia was everything I expected her to be. I was really moved by her past and her gift. What she had to deal with was heartbreaking and horrifying.
Gabe was a good counterpoint for her. He balanced out some of her darker edges. That's not to say he didn't have some darkness of his own. He did. Though I don't think had the depth Olivia had.

I enjoyed this much more than the first book. The transitions between the POVs were less jarring, the "other" story of the kidnapped person was less pervasive, and the characters were easier to connect with. I found the romance to be pretty unbelievable but it wasn't too distracting. There were some unresolved issues throughout that simply weren't addressed again--some that I thought were probably meant to be removed but were overlooked in the final draft.
Slight spoiler--this missing info is particularly clear with random people that the bad guy was kidnapping. Why weren't these people missed?

I thought for sure there was going to be something between Ty and Brooke.
