Alien pen pals are always fun, but I didn't think this one was amazing, either. I'm sure kids would love it for all the slimy alien stuff though, and the kid who sends his older sister to space.
Earth to Clunk is a great story that can be read during a science lesson. Students will love the scientific nature of this story and the illustrations.
Cute story about a boy and his pin pal being an alien, and eventually they become friends. Talks about outer space and aliens, good story to kick off a lesson about outer space!
Another great book for multiple uses! First, it is terrific book for crafting a surprise ending. Second, it is another potential writing prompt - after a grand conversation about pen pals and friendship, the students could journal about why or why not they might choose a pen pal - I'm sure there are organizations that help pair up students in different places for this very purpose.,,,I'll definitely have to check that out!
In this book a boy is assigned a pen pal from another planet and he is not excited about it. To get Clunk to stop writing hm he sends his sister up to him along with other things like old food. When Clunk says he doesn’t want his bossy sister either they bond and continue talking.
A young boy gets assigned to write and send things to his alien pen pal, Clunk, He tried to scare him, so he never writes back, but backfires and ends up creating a new relationship with an alien from the planet Quazar.
