Taranatha is in some sense the Tibetan Herodotus. From his histories we shouldn't expect what the 20th/21st Century European tradition calls "history," but anyone interested in history in a wider context than chronological lists of facts might find this text interesting. Anyone interested in Tara should find something useful to them here.

It is a brief text with copious notes, index, and good bibliography. The original Tibetan is included at the end of the volume.
